Why change your Patio?

We recommend natural paving, porcelain or block paving to our customers for the perfect finish for your patio.

Natural paving such as sandstone or limestone is a great way to give that high quality look and design. It comes in many sizes and colours to match any property.

Porcelain is a modern, smooth and easy to maintain option to give your garden that stylish look. It comes in a range of different sizes, colours or textures to suit your garden space.

Block paving is durable, easy to maintain, and cost effective. It comes in all shapes, sizes and colours to fit any design you have in mind.

If property maintenance is needed after install, simply lift and relay block paving without any damage, repairs or further expense.

What is the Paving process?

After initial design plans have been made, preparation for removing the existing patio can begin. All debris will be collected together and removed from the premises by vehicle or truck. The remaining ground will be made level and compressed with a compactor plate.

Next we make a solid surface for the patio using grade 1 stone. This is made level and compressed using the compactor plate.

On top of the grade 1 stone we mix sharp sand and cement to create a foundation for the paving stones to be placed on. We carefully level out the stone to ensure water has a fall to run off the surface of the stones.

The traditional method of jointing paving stones is done with cement. However, we find this method is more time consuming, less durable and prone to staining over time.

A more modern method of jointing paving stones is done by using a jointing mortar compound, which is essentially a sand like substance that goes hard after 24-48 hour period creating a cement like seal to the joints. The product is simply brushed into the joints while soaking the sand with water throughout the process.

We have tested a number of jointing compounds over the years and have judged EasyJoint the best. This product always gives that perfect finish to any paving stone patio. There are no staining or colour alteration of the paving stones when using this product and it comes in multiple colour variations to suit your design.

The jointing compound is also permeable which allows water to pass through the joints between the stones. The traditional cementing method is prone to staining as water often sits on the surface turning the cement green or brown in colour. By using a jointing compound this can be avoided and keep your patio looking fresh and clean.

What Paving options are there?

Natural stone comes in different material style, rectangle, square and circle shape and different colours.

Block paving is unique in shape and colour. With plenty of styles on the market it can suit any preference.

Porcelain can give your garden a modern look with smooth, easy to clean tiles that come in a range of textures and colours.

Indian sandstone is a more traditional type of stone that has ridges and groves. These include some of the best natural colours that will not disappoint a modern or traditional garden.
